For the cost saving and power management purpose, the PLANET POE-151S is the ideal IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet device that splits the 48V DC over the Ethernet cable into 5V/12V DC power output. When working with the IEEE 802.3af power source equipment (PSE), the POE-151S frees the device deployment from restrictions of power outlet locations, which eliminates the costs for additional AC wiring and reduces the installation time. In the deployment of the PSE and POE-151S, when the PSE inserts DC Voltage into the CAT 5 cable, it allows the cable between the PSE and POE-151S to transfer data and power simultaneously within maximum distance of 100 meters. The PSE acts as an injector to combine the Ethernet digital data with power over the twisted pair cables, and POE-151S, the splitter, shall separate the digital data and the power into two outputs. With IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet network being installed, the system administrator only has to use a single RJ-45 Ethernet cable to carry both power and data to each device. The POE-151S also offers the benefits of cost saving as well as ease of network planning and high reliability. Furthermore, upon any IEEE 802.3af network being installed, the POE-151S can make the connection while migrating or splitting the power and the Ethernet digital packets. Providing two selectable DC output in one box, the POE-151S offers 5V and 12V to fit in applications properly.
